This track is from Paul Mauriat's album "Rain & Tears" (1968, Phillips 844-735). He gives full credit to the composers, Ariel Ramirez (arrangements, since the original music is traditional, and Ramirez himself has said he just arranged the ancient villancico) and Felix Luna (lyrics, the "a la huella a la huella... Jose y Maria... por las pampas heladas...").Pierre Delanoe adapted the lyrics to French, and changed the title to "Alouette" (song performed by Gilles Dreu in 1968). The original version appeared in the set of Christmas-related compositions by Ramirez and Luna, titled "Navidad Nuestra" in 1964.
