First example of what I was able to get at least a tiny quick flash of what Vietnam was. I was 10 and this was getting major airplay on MTV. Have been interested in it off and on ever since. JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ellsberg, McNamara, Kissenger, Gulf Of Tonkin, Tet, Mai Lai and countless other things have always sparked my interest and each time I look to read or watch something on those individuals and events, something I never knew previously becomes known. So, for me and myself alone, this video certainly did the job. And a well deserved attention to that unfortunate and...well, bullshit endeavor at the expense of 58,000+ along with millions more who served, family members who agonized and children left behind.

In fact, nineteen was the *median* age of a combat soldier in Vietnam. The *mean* age was actually 22.3 years. And Mike Oldfield didn't produce this track: Mike Oldfield's contribution to the Vietnam Conflict was helping to develop the defoliant Agent Orange. The Vietnam Conflict was quite bad, but confusing the median and the mean (average) is un-for-fucking-giveable.

England FUCK yeah! This wasn't even our conflict but we write an amazing, ground breaking piece of music about it!

I love Peter Thomas's voice "Forensic File" voice in this song! This song takes me back to when they play this video on MTV. That's when MTV actually showed videos.

30th anniversary mix released on 19th May 2015FYI Mike Oldfield had nothing to do with the production on the record. not so sure why you have put that on your description above ?

I like this song so I hate to point out that the average age was 22 NOT 19. I get that 22 would work as well in this song.

Hi Paul, fantastic track and I remember it fondly, including where I was and what I was doing when I was originally listening to it. Great work!
