The US treated these young boys, the cannon fodder for politicians, so very badly. Did any of those in power send their boys out there?..I doubt it. I heard that G. W Bush was protected by his father's connections?..instead letting him in the National Guard instead, keeping him away from harms reach?. It's the same with all politicians. Since when did any of them care about the ordinary guy?..Men and boys fought for freedom, which is slowly and deliberately being taken away from all citizens. Those same soldiers that tried and fought to up-hold it in the first place. God help us all. The meek won't inherit the earth, the corporations and greedy power-mongers will. That's the plan, and it's all going to plan (for them). Look at today's Russia/Ukraine, it's about one man's ego and the use of fodder to achieve those personal goals. Soap box removed.

Those great guys sometimes come as well near here, which is Marseilles port in France. The carrier sets right in front of the city in the bay, near the couple of islands there. They have one day off in the middle of their short stay, 4 to 5 days at the most, and it's quite fun to encounter the boys strolling, hanging around downtown. They quite behave, they'd better do so since there's somekind of their own "police" around, but there's no need, they're great, fresh, free, enjoying their time, like only americans do so. We, here, do not forget that they have come, specially on such a birthday. We don't even wanna think about what the all thing would have been and become if they would'nd have come ;-) !France and South of France,...and I, salute Western Aussie land.I personnaly have the greatest memories of the time I've spent being around there, quite a while in Perth and Fremantle first, and way down through Bunbury to Denmark and Albany, and back North to cross the Nullarbor on my way to Adelaide... hot, but wonderfull time, wonderful and real people met ;-)
