Is everyone on here slightly depressed, or cynical. I feel like that's a real prerequisite to be an Interpol/Paul Banks fan. I know I am.

Yeah you´re right, but bear in mind that this is his solo album which title is his own name; its normal that the lyrics are self-centered

I like it, always have had a knack for this guy. He doesn't follow suit. It takes more credit to do something solo than a band. It might be easier but it takes more aspiration not inspiration. Kudos, he's a role model.

I think that the transitions thing is done on purpose, if you listen to some psychedelic music you will notice that this thing is very common. I think Paul might have gotten inspired by that.

I mean.. there are definitely some good elements to it. I just feel like the songwriting is a bit choppy at parts, like I wish there were better transitions within each song. Actually this song doesn't really have trouble with that. And also Paul's lyrics are sounding more and more self-centered, which distracts me from the the very deep emotions he portrays through his music. Don't get me wrong Paul and the others from Interpol are my favorite musicians, this is just constructive critisism.

Definitely looking to be a better release than Julian Plenti, I'm liking this more than Interpol (at least, since Carlos D left they aren't the same band).
