On this day in 1951 {March 29th} Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II's Broadway musical, "The King and I", premiered at the St. James Theatre in New York City...The play ran for 1,246 performances and won the 1952 Tony Award for 'Best Musical'...Nine years later on August 1st, 1960 Paul Anka's covered version of "Hello, Young Lovers*" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #79; four weeks later on August 29th it peaked at #23 {for 2 weeks} and it spent 12 weeks on the chart...The record's B-side, "I Love You In the Same Old Way", also charted, it reached #40 and stayed on the Top 100 for 11 weeks...* In the Broadway play "Hello, Young Lovers" is performed by Anna in Act 1...
