Patty, it would be great if you could give this freedom to anyone who listens to your song, freedom to do anything that we want, freedom not to work like a dog and not go to war... Often a man can be prisoner only in his mind and needs only someone to remind him about that. Words, especially poetic words, can be very powerful. The song gets only better when you adress it to living people also. :)

It was an accident, I thought you were Patty Smith? Larkin? I can't remember. But, it was a blessed mistake. I've been hooked ever since. Thank you. Love this, and love Patty. "Long Ride Home" another post-funeral song is one of the first of hers that slayed me. I personally wish she'd stopped and tuned that one out of tune string just a bit before doing this one live. Looks like she had a notion. but dismissed it. But that's just me, and it's still great.
