Rock doesn't matter? No one told Patti Smith thank God. She's the epitome of what makes rock & roll great all these decades later. I shiver when I hear her voice - with the chill of her artistry. She understood Elvis, got The Beatles, absorbed Dylan, Ginsburg, Burroughs, Bukowski & Rimbaud. Gave back to us what the old guard couldn't do. The Big Band was great music.
