There are plenty more than "two interesting chords" in this song... sure it may start out simple, and return there toward the end, but in that last bit there is some great structuring of the chords, and in the middle with the long arpeggios and interesting scales... and the sound effects help to compliment the feel of the song.. I think it gives it a unique twist.. it would be one thing with just the piano and vocals.. but the percussion of broken objects works great for me :)
