Lyrics

A system of complete control. The pressure builds

It wraps its hands around your throat. A constant battle

A silent war of mind and soul

Get up, get up. One life, one shot, give it all you got

Get up, get up

Keep the flame alive

Hope for the hopeless. A light in the darkness

Hope for the hopeless. A light in, a light in the dark

The chains set to break your soul. Day by day

You know the choice you have to make

Freeze up and fade

Or be the flame that lights the way

Get up, get up. One life, one shot, give it all you got

Get up, get up

Keep the flame alive

Hope for the hopeless. A light in the darkness

Hope for the hopeless. You’ve got one life, one shot

Give it all you got

Ill’s got a vice grip, like ice running down your spine

This world, it’s got you in its sights

Rise, rise. It’s all or nothing

Rise, rise. It’s do or die. Rise

Get up, get up. One life, one shot, give it all you got

Get up, get up

Keep the flame alive

Hope for the hopeless, A light in the darkness

Hope for the hopeless, A light in the dark

We stand for the faithless and the broken

Hope for the hopeless. A light in, a light in the dark

As said before, it doesn't quite sound like them, but it's still one hell of a song. That being said...this song was set up from the beginning to have a bad ass solo....and I'm kind of sad that Jeff just put a mini one in at the end... :-(

I've been a fan since IKTPK split and Killing with a Smile days. I love their old shit. I was really skeptical of this song at first. I thought they went all generic with those poppy melodies and riffs but this song has really grown on me. Can't wait for the new album!

defs a party song. catchy and different from parkway new school too but not terrible. kinda grew on me already from seeing it as "meh"

These guys have really evolved as a band, this is pretty different to what you generally remember about this band, but evolving is what artists do, and they are still awesome, like this song.

Too much of a "cock rock" vibe for me. Also, those cliche, uninspiring lyrics–not typical for PWD. But I'm sure this album will have some gems.

Why is there always some little twat stain who claims to be a fan, but then whines about their vagina bleeding when they come up with a newer sound to change things up? Imagine you eat chicken for the last five years... Breakfast, lunch, dinner... You get sick of chicken... You eventually end up going and buying steak or some pork chops to change shit up a bit. So quit being a pussy and stick a tampon in it. What is sad is, Justin Bieber fans don't whine or cry about their faggot singer going with a new sound, but Metal fans do... So quit acting like lesser bieber fans and listen to the fucking music, you whiny cunts.

Kind of the opposite of what PWD has been to me. While they have had underlying uplifting themes to their music, it was never as open as this song is and therefore comes off a bit cheesy, in my opinion. Atlas was perfect for PWD, in my opinion. It had a perfect mix of complexity, sheer Parkway aggression and rhythm. I hope the rest of the album doesn't sound like this song.I'm still an absolute massive PWD fan.
