Statement From The Directors:
This film was not created in a vacuum; it was created in a world where we are constantly exposed to romanticized images of love and relationships in our art, films and music. With this film, we wanted to explore how we would experience such stimuli when we are forced to view such images from a distance, where we are able to see how they look in the context of the real world.
Everything that you see in this video is as we intended the audience to see it. A music video was produced representing the romantic ideal of things. It is at once beautiful and emotionally powerful. This same music video was then played from a television and re-recorded, warts and all. The resulting work is both a document that can attest to the existence of said music video and an exploration of the contrast between the romantic ideal of the imagery and an objective look at what we experience when said imagery is taken away.
