Okay, my take on the Amy Diamond comparisons:IF the melodic similarities were deliberate, they are tight enough to constitute plagiarism in my opinion. It sounds like the songwriter started with Diamond's melody then changed some notes, but if I understand correctly, to call a piece your own, you also have to restructure the rhythm, which Era Stupendo hardly does at all.Having said that, it's still possible that the similarities were accidental. "It Can Only Get Better" is a rather generic pop ballad IMO.

Il aurait pu et dû être classé en finale dans les 5 premiers à l'Eurovision, tellement la mélodie est magnifique et la voix toute en intensité... Au lieu de cela, les téléspectateurs qui votèrent ce soir-là, majoritairement influencés plus par les affinités géopolitiques que le bon goût, ont posé l'acte stupide et imbécile de le recaler en 1/2 finale. That is so typical .. why do so many countries in the ESC feel the need to collaborate with swedes? I think there was like 10 swedish "entries" in ESC last year. Not to mention that azerbaijan has hired swedish songwriters 4 years in a row now, including songwriters for the song they "won" with. I thought the whole concept with ESC was to share an entry from your own respective country with your own culture and such. But nope.
