--There are many types of self harm and self harm is an extremely broad term, it can mean anyway that someone hurts themself.--
Some self harm alternatives;
* go for a walk
* play with your pet/s
* call a friend
* take a shower
* read a book
* draw all over yourself
* make some tea
* take a nap
* do some yoga
* snap a rubber band on your wrist
* go for a jog
* play an instrument
* learn a language
* bake a cake
* go through your clothes
* organize a closet or cupboard
* paint a picture
* blog, journal or write creatively
* do as many push-ups as you can
* make playlists of happy songs
* rub lotion on your arms and legs
* hold an ice cube in your hand
* watch cute cat videos on YouTube
* cry
* make a collage of things that mean alot to you
* look up inspirational quotes
* try the butterfly project
-- The butterfly project ~ The rules.
1. Whenever you feel you like cutting or anything like that get a marker/pen/sharpie and draw a butterfly on your arm or hand.
2. Name the butterfly after a loved one or someone who wants you to get better.
3. You must let the butterfly fade away naturally, no rubbing it off etc.
4. If you cut before the butterfly has worn off, you kill it. If not, it lives.
5. If you have more than one butterfly, cutting kills all of them.
6. Another person may draw a butterfly on you, these ones are extra special. Take good care of them.
7. Even if you don't cut, feel free to draw a butterfly to show your support, if you do this name it after someone who cuts or someone who is suffering right now, and then tell them This could help.
