(Track 7) This is Overkill's "End Of The Line" from their 1988 album "Under The Influence"

Take a look

Take a good long look and tell me what you see

Through time passing

Make a stand

In your way

Leaves way too much for me

On the edge, standing

I was there when lightning struck

I watched the idols fall

I could see it coming

Could read the writing on the wall

(Chorus)

Time, Time after time

The End Of The Line

We stand and watch it fade away

Sign of the time

Is the End Of The Line

It's your move

So play it right

Sometimes you get just one chance

Superstitious...No!

If I had the time

I still wouldn't dance

I was there when lightning struck

And yes I kept my head

I could feel them coming

Could feel the living dead..dead..dead!

(Chorus)

Time, Time after time

The End of the line

We stand and watch it fade away

Sign of the time

Is the End Of The Line

Time, Time after time

The End Of The Line

We stand and watch it fade away

Sign of the time

Is the End Of The Line

Save your breath

Don't pray for me

Pray for yourself

Through time, Kneeling

It's the end

It snuck up quick and took you by surprise

The waiting's over

I was there when lightning struck

I watched the idols crawl

It was the second coming

It was written on that wall

(Chorus)

Time, Time after time

The End of the line

We stand and watch it fade away

Sign of the time

Is the End Of The Line

Time, Time after time

The End Of The Line

We stand and watch it fade away

Sign of the time

Is the End Of The Line

Is it just me or is it kind of annoying how everyone has to dissect this masterpiece and try to say it sounds a lot like another song or band's style (ex. Four Horsemen, Iron Maiden)? The way the song fits together, it honestly doesn't that much at all. I don't think of it that way. It's Overkill. So I think of it as, well, OVERKILL. Their style is very unique and distinct and shows well on this album, and that sound dominated the overall sound of this song, not they sort of style of playing. Just because certain little notes sound a bit like a signature style another band has, doesn't mean they're ripping anyone off or that the song sounds like that. Music is music, it's just notes arranged in a certain way, and all metal and any other subsidiary of rock tends to have a limited amount of sounds possible anyway, and the best is made of it, especially here. That's what I love about Overkill; they don't stick to one "style" of instrumentation, they just have a loose style of overall sound that is very identifiable with them, which means they can employ a lot of musical diversity. The "styles" of guitar in this song actually have a wide range. And the whole song sounds great, not just the solo!! Anyone commenting or even WATCHING this should know that Overkill doesn't just rip shit off from other people.

LSDizzys

one of the brightest moments on this not very good album. This solo is amazing, at the end of the solo they sound a bit like Maiden in Remember Tomorrow.
