djent is totally a genre

the drummer does the snare on the same count every time... very. boring for a "technical death metal" band, i'm only saying this because i honestly think the drummer is really what determines a good/bad death band,

A bit too much like thrash, but still decent metal.

Matter of taste, I like them and the "more brutal" guys like these guys or rivers of nihil to name another excellent new band. It's just two different genres of metal.

It's really difficult to find such heavy dedication to exotic scales being applied to guitar like Ouroboros does on this record. I've seen some of the suggestions people have given ya below...but I don't think Dragonforce & Nevermore cut it, lol. Let me throw a risky suggestion from left field: Cacophony "Go Off" (1988). You may find the vocals odd though...There, now you know I'm an old geezer.

Sick but, drums get kinda boring at times.

Dragonforce blows!

Try Artillery, Nevermore, Symphony X's latest album and Heathen.

Dragonforce maybe, or Stratovarius :)

UnzonedThrash

Augury or Cynic might be good starts, as well as instrumental bands like Exivious and Blotted Science. alternately, tech thrash like Coroner, Watchtower, Spastic Ink or Toxik may be good starts

Protest The Hero is probably your best option. Also, Animals As Leaders has some of the best guitar work in the world, and no vocals whatsoever.
