I mean just because it's different from Bill Evan's version, doesn't mean it's generally worse. He interpreted the song in a different way and that's how it's supposed to be. I personally like it, but if you don't like, no problem, but don't criticize Oscar Peterson just because he wanted to create something new.

The drummer is terrible here. There is no finesse at all, he just keeps hitting the drums regardless of how Oscar is playing. Also I liked Bill's rendition of Waltz much more. Oscar is so spazzy you can't really enjoy the music... instead your just overwhelmed by the amount of complexity of it.

it is a performance as listener to find back the harmonic frame of Evans composition, but don't worry every chord and beat is there at is place.Peterson the last Emperator of Swing, Evans the dreamer with Russian roots, Adiou both...

I'd love to be able to hear Oscar play Listz or Scriabin.

I'm gonna have to side with everyone on this being pitched up. Does it matter? Only if you have a good sense of absolute pitch. Would you appreciate a van gogh differently if your green carpet reflected a slight green tint onto your walls? Some people yes, some no. For some people the pitches feel very different. Erroll garner with his synesthesia would probably think all the colors had been moved over if he heard this recording.

Hey, it depends on the original source, the tape on which this has been recorded. You may know that even "Kind Of Blue" had been partly issued in the wrong pitch, slightly too high. This got corrected in the mid-1990's. -- This here is definitely running a halftone too high. Period.

Also, Oscar had perfect pitch!

Bill wasn't obsessed with keys. Oscar probably wasn't either. Too academic and not substantive.
