Oscar Peterson was the quintessential pianist... Joe was the quintessential guitarist... and Ray was the quintessential bassist of the Pablo label in the 70's. Here they come together for the first time to create a tight set of straightahead bop... tremendous interplay and intensity throughout. Oscar would go on to win the 1977 Grammy for "Best Jazz Instrumental Performance" as a soloist, but Joe's and Ray's performances were equally stellar. On "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You", Joe takes the first solo at 1:06.
