This amp plus orange 1x12 volume all the way tone 1 o'clock gain halfway use a true clean boost and a les paul on the neck pickup now start to roll in the volume on your guitar and start riffing Sleeps Dopesmoker you are welcome

Great review of a great little head! I'm currently using one as my main rig. Put it through a 2x12 cab with eminence/celestions with the gain on 3/4 and volume on half and it will outperform a peavey valveking half stack!!. Top tip. For metal players swap the stock tube for a tung sol 12ax7 for more gain and low end, and add an eq pedal and tube screamer in the front to tighten and fine tune the tone!

These are to avoid. Cute but sound terrible. Just get a cheap combo amp, it will sound WAY better.

This little $150 head will not polish a turd guitar and cab. It sounds awesome but don't chase Ola's sound with one unless you have a proper cab and a proper guitar. The problem with this thing is that it's 1 dimensional. To get a good, loud clean sound you have to get it to the point where it's just about to break, 12 o'clock on all 3 dials and that isn't loud enough for shit. Add a distortion pedal to that though and it's way too hot. Better off saving a few extra quid and getting a Vox Night Train V2. That thing has an effects loop, 2 channels and a far superior overall sound and flexibility of sounds than this little guy which by all means should be reserved as a backup head that you can pop in a bag. It doesn't even serve well as a "bedroom" head because it only sounds good cranked.

To people complaining about not getting the same tone with their micro terror, are you forgetting this is in a full mix? The low end from the bass is supporting the guitar line and making it sound bigger. It has an overdrive in front of it too so that will have a big part to play in its overall tone. It's a great little amp that's amazing for the price.

I just purchased a 4x12 Fender Metalhead cab from a friend and was wondering if these little terrors are powerful enough to push it? Just until I can save me monies for a good tube head. Thanks!

guitar2828 I played one of these in a music store through a single 12" cab and I had no problems with the gain. If I would have got it I would probably put a pedal in front but the gain on it wasn't bad and for 150 it's hard to beat.

Any ideas as to why I'm not getting even close to that amount of gain on with this head? I'm running through an original 1980 tubescreamer and two celestion vintage 30s. I'm not using cheap dull pickups either. His tone has so much richness and fuzz and mine is sounding very boxy and lifeless. Not even close to this tone.

Does it work well with multi effects like Boss ME70? And can i play with this amp in rehearsals or small shows using 2x12?Sorry for my bad english!Thx Ola!

With a decent EQ and a boost pedal with a noise gate with would be a killer practice tube head through a good 1x12 speaker cab.Thx Ola.
