Green Day put me into punk, I know they are a little commercial but maybe they are trying to put the punk scene back. I think they are heroes! Now I listen to Operation Ivy, The Descendents, Ramones, Bad Religion, The Adicts, The Adolescents, blink-182, The Clash, Rancid, Sex Pistols, NOFX, The Offspring, Rise Against, Far As Hell (check them), Sum 41, The Stooges, The Who, Los Saicos and now I´m very influenced by the punk scene, and back then I liked mainstream music!! Thank you Green Day!!!

Nope, Jesse asked Billie if he wanted to play guitar for Rancid. He refused, because he was recording 39/smooth with Green Day.

OP IVY (the members) do supported GD on their early years, never said play with them or tour with them, I read an interview with Rancid where they said taht billie played a couple of months and in that time co-wrote Radio so...

Green Days first concert as Green Day was at the same concert in which Operation Ivy had their last on May 28th 1989 at 924 Gilman Street. There is also no evidence saying Billie Joe played guitar "on" Rancid for a "couple of months". He did co write Radio though.

Maybe one day I'll figure out how to do an internet radio station and just set up some time in the week for a 2-3 hour radio show of good music. Maybe podcast it even.Maybe.
