@cashmny78 Keep in mind that a lot of the genre was influenced by them. When they first came out they were considered far from generic. Most people actually thought they were weird. 0.o Love 'em or hate 'em, you can thank them along with a few other select groups(Theatre of Tragedy being one of them) for female-fronted Metal.

@1teigan Thats probably because just about every band with a female in the lead gets compared with nightwish. Surf around these pages and look at the comments. I dont even like Nightwish... at all. Cant see what the hype is about. Vibeke Stene and old Tristania, now thats what I like =D Maybe some old Theater of Tragedy, Xandria, Draconian, something along those lines. Nightwish just seems generic at best.
