Bonus track from his solo album The Promise (1976), added to the reissue of that album.

Also recorded by the Moody Blues for their album Octave in 1978. This solo-version is a re-recording, obviously recorded much later than the Moody Blues did. I guess Pinder liked that song. I love it!

Oddly, I'm pretty sure there's no Mellotron on the Octave version of this song, even though he sings "There's one thing I can do, play my Mellotron for you" ...

For most, this song is too true to be "good" (or the inverse, if you please) in the common sense of pleasure and gratification. For a few of us, it is ultimate pleasure from the highest point of and in the human heart mind. Love this rendering; the more it plays, the more it invokes hope for purpose

No, this is clearly a rerecorded version.

I love this song! The combination of Mike's words, his gorgeous orchestrations and his warm, mellow voice resonant with love and compassion, always brings tears to my eyes and lifts my spirit. Who needs therapy? All you need to be whole and at peace is in Mike's message in this song. It's so simple-we just have to choose.

Super good, he was a backbone for the incredible Moody Blues. Mike Pinder & Moody Blues were the meaning of super group.

This is incredible! Mike could always get the best out of his keyboard. I miss him not being with the Moodies.

WOW! I didn't know this particular version! Such heartbreakin' beauty! It sure felt great being in your early twenties - that's how old I was when I first heard "Octave"! All the best from Portugal, Mike!

Mike WAS the core of The moody blues, the centre, the heart the genius the main man. Justin had the touch but Mike gave that finesse to the songs. Mike was that cosmic sound!
