Its my personal opinion as a big pink floyd fan that roger waters, creative as he was eventually hindered the rest of the bands creative ability and his departure was for the best. I the the album the final cut will back me up on this. Some people say pink floyd without roger waters is a david gilmour solo album but i think thats just because hes the dominant creative force in the band..the same could have been for pink floyd with waters in it..a roger waters band. But when i hear momentary lapse or division bell..the keyboards still sound like wright..and the drums still sound like mason..i hear pink floyd. I know that waters made fun of the lyrics on momentary lapse and division bell and gilmour might not be the poet that waters is but the music speaks for itself. I believe that his departure allowed the band to take a refreshing step in a different direction. My best friend wont even listen to any pink floyd without roger waters and i think hes missing out.true they sound different but as people were always growing and changing.we shouldnt expect a band not to do the same.and thats my rant on pink floyd post waters. : ).
