Neil Diamond is one of the most successful pop music singer-songwriters, selling well over a 100 million records in his career. Early on he almost decided to use the stage name Eice Chary but stuck with his given Neil Diamond although he thought his real name was rather forgettable.
"Once in a While" is from Diamond's 1977 album titled Im Glad Youre Here With Me Tonight which included the song "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." The next year he recorded it with Barbara Streisand as a duet and it went number one. (BTW, as a teenager he also sang with 'Babs' in high school choir back in Brooklyn.) I prefer his solo rendition of YDBMF on this album - check it out.
