Yes this is a cover of Cody Simpson's song. No, that is not a problem. No, it's not a bad thing to change lyrics to a song to better fit your situation and to make the version 'yours'. No, Olly didn't ruin it. No, I'm sure Cody Simpson couldn't care less - if he found it problematic he wouldn't have given permission for Olly to cover it. No, it is not illegal to cover a song without outwardly saying it's a cover - I don't see 'Ellie Goulding, Your Song (cover of Elton John) - anywhere. And people making snarky comments about '"Don't Cry Your Heart Out" or "Cry Your Heart Out", you can choose which one is sweeter' SHUT UP. Maybe Olly had a rough breakup and didn't feel like singing about how he's 100% behind the girl and the guy (in this situation it would be him) is a knob. Besides, is anyone should be pissed it's not Cody Simpson fans, it's "Lucas Secon, Wayne Hector, Mintman, Secon" fans, because they're the ones who actually wrote it. Sorry for the rant but I'm thoroughly pissed off. Olly doesn't deserve hate for what many artists do and get away with completely.

Demi Lovato's "I Really Don't Care" is very similar to the Icona Pop song "I don't care" but she didn't steal it from them, she was given another version of the song and/or used it as inspiration. Same thing happened here. Both versions are distinctly different and good, in my opinion.

Look, Cody fans and all that chizz... I'm not a fan of Olly, but since I've been scanning through all of the comments, seems that most people are hating on Olly because he's done a 'cover'. No he hasn't actually. Before Olly could take loads of bits of the song from Cody, he asked permission, otherwise it would be copyright law.
