I don't think she woud've became a singer if she didn't want to. She admitted to being "pretty depressed" when she came out with these mini-albums & The Lost Lolli, so that's probably why her music sounded more like this. There's no way she could've had this job for almost 20 years if she doesn't enjoy it...also I don't think she would be expressing her feelings through music if she doesn't even like it.
