Like I explained before in case you misunderstood. Post rock is a broad genre that explains the usage of rhythms or instruments typically not found in your everyday rock. Old Silver Key uses slight black metal riffs in their music which is not common in this type of music, thus is falls UNDER post rock. Also if you do not care about genres, then why are we having this conversation? And yes, I know about those bands mentioned too, not all post rock bands are instrumental.

you have no idea what you are talking about, post rock is bands like explosions in the sky, yndi halda, sleepmakeswaves, deadhorse, the evpatoria report, the seven mile journey, the end of the ocean, this will destroy you... I could go on forever. This is not post-rock, they use metal distortions and the sound is pretty shoegazey so you can call it post-shoegaze if you want or shoegaze/black metal but ABSOLUTELY not post rock (I don't care about labels but this is about general culture)

Yes. This is post rock. Shoegaze is very similar to this but with light and a few differences. Post rock uses instruments or like here (the black metal guitar riffs), the use of guitar rhythms that wouldn't be found in your tradition rock music. While shoegaze music can sound like this but with the usage of distortion within the guitars while keeping a strong slight droning melody much like bands a Slowdrive or My Bloody Valentine. Like I said, this is post rock. :)

I like old classic black metal like the old Emperor stuff. I also like the weird mutant beast a lot of the Norwegian bands became (Ulver, Solefald, etc). I also like shoegaze (Ride/Swervedriver) and I like this. I can't believe people are having taste wars over this shit. It's pretty clear that a lot of musicians don't give a fuck anymore and they're a hell of a lot more important than purist fans.

Clicked on this without knowing Neige was involved... his voice instantly makes anything great!

and btw the riff is stolen from woods of desolation

this is really really mediocre stuff. Metal fans think this is good only because this is the only "shoegaze" they ever listened to.

He didn't "create" anything in Peste Noire except 1 song. He was just a session drummer (1 guest vocals on Dueil Angoisseux) and live stand-in. Famine wrote all the music.

I love how Neige can create raw, dreadful, cold black metal w/ Peste Noire, and can still make beautiful shoegaze. Hats off to you, Neige. Hats off.
