This song paints such a vivid picture. The last verse "... Then he thought about Eutaw..." Sends me chills every time. It inspired me to watch some documentaries I cant imagine being drafted and put in that jungle on the other side of the planet with a mission to kill or be killed. Cannon fodder was, is and will be always important in HUGE wars/operations. These fights in Afghan demand surgical precision and specialized soldiers for certain tasks, that's why you might think infantry masses doesn't count anymore. It wouldnae be like that in, let's say, World War 3.
