I realized, after going back to listen to the released version of "One after the 909" that the anthology has studio takes that are great and sound like a real good band and then the released version has buried all of that in over-dubs. Anyway thanks for this lesson.

I don't know, but I don't really have enough spare time to be posting videos on multiple websites. And then if I had a second site, that would double the number of a**holes I have to deal with. To be honest, at this point, I can take or leave this whole guitar lesson thing. It's hardly worth tolerating trolls. My ego is plenty healthy enough to take the insults -- I just can't stand pricks glorifying themselves by throwing out anonymous bulls***.

Too bad we lost you! Back in the day, the Rochester area had a lot more opportunities for musicians than it does now. There's still AMAZING talent here but, for working musicians, it's hard to earn enough money to buy a new set of strings, nevertheless earn a living... Anyways.... Thanks again for all your great lessons and good humor!!

I lived in Rochester for 20 years, but I moved in the mid-'90s. Spent many hours -- and dollars -- at the HOG.

Unfortunately, claiming it's for educational purposes doesn't have any validity at all. I've received hundreds of copyright notices from YouTube and they're pretty clear on that point. What I don't understand is taking down videos that clearly contain no copyrighted material. I even contested it when they removed Thank You, but they still counted it as my second strike.

Then apparently you are a victim of your own fame. Others can do the same songs because very few watch the videos. But YT is watching you. There is another guitarist on a website where he post a disclaimer that the video is for "instructional purposes only", blah, blah. I'm not sure about the legality of that since I don't practice in that area. Maybe there's someone on here who does who would be gracious enough to provide a non-binding opinion.

I posted a lesson on Thank You without any recording playing in the background. YouTube blocked it on copyright grounds. So I guess I can't even talk about a copyrighted song without violating the rules.

Why can't you give a lesson on Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks" to get around the YT censorship? I checked other sites and there are several "teaching" versions out there.
