I used to listen to this song on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack when I was 5 or 6... loved it. Found that tape in the trunk of a used car I bought about 10 years ago, rediscovered the song and have been rocking out to it ever since.

Danny Elfman gets well-deserved accolades for his film work, but I never see anything written about his vocal talents. As a music producer I'm not only coaching vocalists for pitch, but I'm also working to get them to sing 'on the beat'. Danny's vocals are pitch-perfect here, but the timing is so TIGHT; he uses his voice to push and pull the groove through the whole song! (Listen to the part when he sings "I lived way at the top! In castles made of sand!" He uses his voice as rhythmic instrument - almost like a 'drum fill' to pull us into the next bar.) This is a fun edgy/angry/remorseful song that needs that 'wide-eyed' white-knuckle grip, and Danny sounds like he is in the 'manic' phase of a bi-polar cycle. Great performance by Danny Elfman, and a fun song too! What a talent!

too bad hollyweird relegated oingo to a few "teenage" comedy films and left it at that. after Back to School, and Weird Science, they should have been everywhere! but that was then- when good music was still good because you didn't hear it on every Verizon commercial, or Wendy's Ad. now, if I DONT hear Nicki Minaj or Justin Beiber hawking tampons, i'll be colored surprised...
