their version of this song did better than THE STANDELLS version(whose version was banned from the radio due to the lyrics).when O.E. did their version,they changed some of the lyrics.and it charted(barely) at #83 in 1968.this version is awesome.

While I know these guys didn't record Beg Borrow and Steal, I'm not sure whether they recorded Yummy Yummy or not. They did go on to record some fun music and deserve credit for it. I enjoyed the post. Thanks !

I heard The Standells' version first, but I think I like this better. That lyric, "I can tell you want some action - action is my middle name," in the original always made me cringe! I'm glad these boys had the good taste to change it.

hahaha i didn't event this band covered it until Facebook friend, MICHAEL, linked it my way. I STILL prefer Standells orig, however. Check out 60's British band The Attack's cover.
