Oh Captive - "Tricking Us" A BlankTV World Premiere!

Artist Biography: Oh Captive are a four-piece from Bristol. At least that's what they'll tell you. Their spiritual home is North Devon -- a slumberous musical backwater to all but those who have borne witness to its uncharacteristic hyperactivity and DIY stoicism. It's where Oh Captive cut their teeth before BBC Devon Introducing beckoned in early 2013. By that year's end, Oh Captive had shared stages across the UK with Sonic Boom Six, Straight Lines, Max Raptor, Sharks, Blitz Kidz, I Divide and Scholars.

Advance Creature peddles a firecracker brand of intensely melodic post-punk, where scalpel-sharp hooks scythe through the cochlea with disarming force. Yet there's a grace and honesty and maturity to Oh Captive that a band at the beginning of their career have no right to possess. They sound completely at home with their sound. Raw yet emotionally redolent. Ferocious yet refined. Balanced, sometimes beautifully so.

About The Video: There's no theme really. We just wanted a video that was visually pleasing and didn't distract from the song. Our original plan was an elaborate short film but it got so ridiculous with car chases and fake blood and stuff that we just binned it.

The outdoor bits were filmed at Snapper Wood, an out of service railway line just outside Barnstaple. It rained most of the day so we were ducking under trees a lot between takes. Other than that the only real setback was the occasional dog running in to shot. We did get followed around by some old guy who was really keen to tell us about how the area was bombed during the war. He was nice enough, he just wouldn't leave us alone.
