I totally thought you said "Michael Jackson" was one of the 3 best female soloists ever, and I thought "Yeah, that sounds about right..."

Odetta was really one of a kind. She sang American Folk Music, Blues, Jazz, and Spirituals. I first saw her on a Harry Belafonte TV special in 1959. I was very impressed. She actually had a operatic background. How cool is that? In the song, "Ain't no grave can hold my body down" her high notes send chills down my spine. My wife Mary and I had the privilege to see her about ten years ago when she opened for Ray Charles here in Boston. May God bless them both.
