I really wish certain people would stop using the tired, clichéd phrase "At the end of the day" in their analysis. Anyway, Liam was overrated as a vocalist in Oasis. That's not to say that there weren't moments when he was brilliant. There are a few Supersonic and Live Forever versions that are otherworldly, and the album version of Slide Away is magnificently inspiring. But he's essentially a hack who lucked into a band with a brother who wrote great songs and whose sound fit his voice very well in the vintage years. I think he refused to sing acoustically because he knows that without the full, electric sound of a band behind him, his lack of control and his gruff timbre expose him for being less talented than his hype. And there are many moments, easy to find, especially post 2002, where he sounded awful; he was often off pitch, lacked any sustain, and his tone had devolved into a bad imitation of himself (Kermit The Frog…I hear it in those 2008 shows). When people call him god-like, I think it's more to do with the fact that old Oasis songs and performances remind them of exciting times in their lives, but Liam's ever deteriorating vocals and boorish behavior definitely don't make him "god-like".

Liam is a master talent and 100% jackass ..such a great band .. but sick of their shit,, would love to see them but would be afraid to drop the $300 to $ 500 for tix because these fucks cant maintain their respect for the fans that made them zillionaires..

I only get live albums if theyre unplugged for different arrangement. And having a batch of Noel sung gems was a treat. Liams voice is terrible in the video. Wouldve been ear murder.

Love Liam, he is an icon, and he did contribute to Oasis with his style, his voice, and his image, but that is right out of order to Noel, but to be fair Noel still absolutely smashed it in the performance, he was brilliant

Personally, I'm so glad Liam never played this gig. It's one of my favourite live sessions they've done and I'm glad Noel got a chance to shine and sing his songs the way they're meant to be sung! Liam never deserved to be on the stage with them that night

at the end of the day, noel saved them from any lawsuit,,, and who knows if the contract defined liam as the lead singer of oasis they might still had to pay some compensation

Personally, I always preferred Noel doing vocals over Liam so his presence was always negligible anyways. Noel was the songwriter / guitar player and can easily step up and be the vocalist as evidenced by this gig. Oasis = Noel - and NOT Liam..!

that and I think Noel is more of a natural tenor voice...the high notes are easier for him. Plus Liam's technique probably hurt him a lot
