Their hiatus in 96 gave people an opportunity to discover other music.This album suffered partly due to the fact it couldn't live up to morning glory. Noel also said they had too man yes men around them at the time. But the main problem was the environment in which the album was released. Labour had won the general election and the country had moved from latent rebellion to euphoria. As Pete Doherty once said, Oasis was a council estate singing it's heart out.If that's true, Labour was about to rehouse the lot of them in plush new surroundings.
