My £25 AKG headphones (when sound card aided) sound better than Corsair headphones worth £50. These only go through USB so that high quality Optical audio connection at the back is useless. Would've liked to use my sound card on those.

sounds good/great, but youtube doesn't support 24 bit audio.  Albeit, unless one has an extensive array of audiophile-grade gear and expertise, hi quality 16 bit such as this will do just fine, but it's not 24 bit. Just my 2 cents.  If you can get some legitimate 24 bit stuff, give it a try, you'll appreciate it if you truly are an audiophile
