Northlane really screwed up when they picked Marcus as the new singer... He has that shitty i hate myself and wanna die emo bullshit sound.. Listen to his audition video.. Adrian was much better in so many levels.. Listen to dispossession then listen to rot.. You will see how they really fucked them self's over by choosing Marcus.. They should have picked Aeeden Cooper or me instead but i missed the auditions and didnt get my video in... Now northlane sounds like every other i wanna be hardcore but i am emo band.. Not only is the new singer total garbage, the guitars have gone straight out the window. This entire song is literally a bunch of open notes, with some muted tremolo picking and ONE, riff, muted, behind the breakdown. Like seriously, this isn't a minimalist approach to songwriting, it's pretty fucking shameful for any band, much a band that proved themselves to be capable of consistency. If this is the state of award worthy metal songwriting then that speaks volumes about the scene today. This is what happens when you put djent+deathcore+riserecords into a calculator and press enter. Fuck this singer he sounds just like every other trendy ass high pitched faggot, the old singer had hooks that was catchy, everyone knew the lyrics and it was easier to song along with, and he did not sound just like every other band, I'm not saying it sucks, I'm just saying they lost there originality with this guy.
