I Agree with Pennridgeboy. Back in my day 1962 to 1966 we had the greatest DJ in the world Mr Guy Stevens resident DJ at The Scene in Londons West End. he played music that you could'nt buy.. Booker T's Green Onions is a Mod Anthum. Rufus Thomas's Jump Back was a scene Classic.

Ok Babaloula, glad that you didn't limit yourself to Motown. Groups like the Delfonics, Stylistics, Dells, Chilites, Impressions, Dramatics and the Spinners made the whole Soul experience so much better. I didn't intend to offend with my earlier comment.

For those white kids that only listened to Motown, brothers and sisters you missed out on some great stuff coming out of Memphis. Eddie Floyd, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas, Booker T and the MG's, Sam and Dave, Issac Hayes, the Bar Kays etc etc. Great great soul music.
