i'm not a native english speaker but i think "halo" means the aura of light around the head of angels or jesus. in my opinion this makes sense because heartless people don't deserve a halo! the word "halo" also denotes the light rings around the sun on photos. halo is the name of a great xbox game series - but i don't that the title of the song refers to this :D
