To Edward Eaton;I have similar feelings about Ct. Mine are personal I lost my sister at the foot of a Avon Mt in 2005. Your sentiments, however, seem to reflect my feelings about an overall change in society since the time the Wildweeds were on top. For me this was idyllic at least in my own mind.

Love when the audience goes the a capella " cry" right before the classic almost one note solo. Al cooks on this. Is Ray Z. on keys here as that organ sound helped make the song? A Windsor band they were, they were! A classic song and sound.

I Was born and grew up in Southington Connecticut.I remember this song by the WildWeeds. I have so many memories about Connecticut in the 50's and 60's I love Connecticut. Now Connecticut is a ### Police State!!! Sandy Hook was a Hoax!! I would never come back to Connecticut unless I had a lot of money and the government could verify where the money came from. Even then I would not! Connecticut is a horrible state in which to live unless you have legitimate or illegitimate money. Born and raised in Southington connecticut, I can't think of a worse state in which to live. So sadJohn Rowland was the beginning of corruption! Now it's out of control!! A Green Hell!!!!

Big Al can play anything on the guitar. He is simply amazing. Got to see him often with NRBQ. Always fabulous.

I grew up in Hartford, and went to Springfield College. While there in Spring '67 the song hit #1, I believe, in both Hartford and Springfield, and the Wildweeds played at a mixer (dance) on campus. Great tune and great memories. Still one of my all-time favorites. Thanks for posting.

This great tune, still stands up 40+ years later! Memories of Connecticut music, and the old haunts. First time I heard these guys was St. Mary's CYO in New Haven they left an impression that has remained in my heart and kept me playing.
