Ok what version are you talking about, because Polly on the Nevermind album is played at this pitch exactly. However, Polly on the Unplugged In NY album is played down a half step from standard tuning. Listen to Nevermind and you will understand that it is the correct pitch. The only other explanation is that you're playing it wrong but maybe you're just misunderstanding something

I'm just saying that it would sound better on Open chords because it gives more of a flowing feeling than bar chords, especially with Em G D C, because they all are in the same area on the fretboard. and I'm pretty sure his guitar doesn't sound tuned down, it sounds like he is playing a half step to high.

Polly is also played on bar chords, not open chords like he is doing. You're right the correct chords are Em G D C ... and he is playing them because his guitar is tuned a half step down

This is the fake way to play a song.... the tune is lacking because you play nickle guitar. Try the real notes. you will notice a difference one note up and down the neck does not make for an interesting song

this is awesome, but I would suggest playing the right chords: you're playing the chords one half step too high. and you should play open chords.
