Is the distortion the DS-1 on this? or the RAT? Sounds more like the DS-1. The RAT is more midrange-y

Is it just me or does the guitar solo by itself seem more awesome and badass than the normal version?

Kurt's guitar always had a strange sound... very distorted, squeaky, almost watery. Anyone know what he wielded?

It's really hard to link all of these together. After some time, I had the Bass, Guitar, and Drum track going together pretty well(I left the vocals out; maybe some day).

Thanks, Wolteron. I spent the night remastering these tracks to get rid of some of the polished sound. Stereo isolation, dryness to the drums, raising Krist's bass, etc... enjoy and thanks for posting these gems!

lol, not weird. I have ten cats. That's weird. But not really, because when I bought my house I didn't know the former tenant was feeding 9 feral cats in the backyard. Now I'm feeding them, but at least there are no rodents anywhere near my home.,

Hmmm thats very interesting, I never knew that. But look up the bass big muff they too like the boss have an ac adaptor, and are much smaller than the big muff. and it sounds the same as a green russian big muff.

Experiment by plugging a DS-1 right into a PA system or mixing console. You'll instantly hear a sound that resembles this song's.

I have a 1975, 1977 and a 1978 Big Muff. They are awesome pedals, but the truth is that my two Boss HM-2 pedals sound even better, because they have more tone controls. They are also smaller, more reliable and accept an AC adapter. I use both at the same time. One for rhythm and then kick on the other one for solos. Not too many people know that these old Heavy Metal pedals sound just like vintage Big Muffs.

Oh and by the way, not to sound weird.. but your profile pic of the cat is so freaking cute.

No thank you... I have a bass big muff witch sounds just like a green russian on guitar, I also have a dunlop wah, small chorus clone, and a behringer vm1, for the nirvana polly chorus sound. Although I would like to get kurts amp setup. But I still prefer orange amps more (even though I don't have one). My setup gets me a great nirvana sound even though my gear isn't spot on with theres.

So,...are you gonna buy a Mesa Boogie pre amp, a Boss DS-1 and a Crown amp and some Marshall cabs now? All from 1991 of course.
