My interpretation: it's Freudian dream symbols, unique to Cobain himself. The Jesus figure represents him, as the unwilling voice of a generation, crucified by the media, made to be larger than life, and in a sense, could feel he was walking towards the grave, or the cross. It's further driven home by the shot of the amplifier in the hospital bed. The shot of the fetus in the IV bag is symbolic of his daughter being his lifeline, or the only thing keeping him alive. He and his wife were going through a separation and likely divorce, which is why I think the little girl represents Courtney Love. Childish, ignorant, grabbing fetuses from a tree possibly reflects the idea that she got pregnant to trap him in an unhappy relationship that he stayed in due to
