This is a very cool song that topped the charts 50 years ago as the country was mourning the loss of JFK

Wonderful song, excellent background vocals and music... Isn´t It a pity, there is no more music like this nowadays?

If they are siblings why did they use different names?

Happy 78th birthday today to Antonio Lo Tempio, He performs as Nino Tempo and won a Grammy with his sister Carol (April Stevens) for this 1963 duet. Nino also played sax on John Lennon's Rock n Roll albumNino Tempo & April Stevens - Deep Purple

I read that also. Their agent/producer hated the song and ridiculed them. They were recording something else, & had 14 minutes left on the tape. They did this song, For some reason Nino went blank, and she did as you said "fed" words to him. They polished it up a bit & demanded that it be released or they were changing producers, or agents. There aren't many pictures of her, but she was a knockout- beautiful smile, beautiful voice, beautiful body. I just found out it was a brother sister act !

I was in junior high back when this came out. I didn't think too much about it at the time, due to the "demographic" we were part of. Years later I realized what a really neat song this was. Easy going, good music and acts like this were the last encores of a society that was about to change forever.

April's voice always sounded like Jackie Kennedy's to me.

Check out the Artie Shaw/Helen Forrest version too. It's also super good.
