Personally I thought that the final season was my favorite. Don't Get me wrong, this is ultimately one of the greatest shows I have and will be watching in my life time. I have seen mostly all gangster films out there but one thing that pisses me off is when people compare this with Breaking Bad.

Is a song of Sardinia, Sicily there is a not big differenceend 800]Traditional text being Gallura (Gadduresu) dating from the late nineteenth century, the famous song on bandits, adaptation of Maria Carta (which in a 45 rpm of 1971 titled "Antoneddu, Antoneddu").Song of Gallura, spread widely in Logudoro, called Corsicana because considered native of Corsica. Also present in the repertoire of Elena Ledda.

It does make a difference what part of the country the version is from. Different regions sing the song with different words. This is from Corsica. From somewhere else may tell a very different story.

This song, if you remember the episode was just perfect with Tony standing alone in the psychiatric establishment. Corsica ? Sardaigna ? Italian ? Who gives a shit ? You don't need to understand words or where the music come from to feel the sadness in it.

Who cares whether its Corsican or Sicilian - we are all one people on a ball of rock travelling thro time and space - its a beautiful song which is evocative in whatever language it is sung. Miss the Sopranos RIP James Gandolfini.

The mother is telling her son, whose father is an outlaw, that she would rather see him dead than a bandit in the mountains like his father. He must grow strong, quickly and avenge his father. The women's voice tells the son's story next, he says "Mama Mama when I live in the mountains I won't fall into dishonor. The next part is the father, who says "Sing O' beautiful, all around me is quiet and I only hear you singing."
