IMHO think it relates to anything that anyone's addicted to, heroin, crack, cocaine, drink or even a girl... whatever fixates your mind in 1 place only to the detriment of everything else... many of us from different walks of life have been there, which makes this track an anthem to so many, it hits so many 'right' notes if you get my drift. IDK, I played college football, I've seen several guys on steroids and Reznor just doesn't look like he's on steriods to me. Though he has more muscle and muscle tone, he doesn't have that structure that a steroid freak does. All it takes to look like him is 3 days a week in the weight room and a couple protein shakes... regardless, amazing fucking song.

ehhh, he's like 40 and not doing heroin anymore... He works out, but he's probably got a fair amount of fat now too. Only reason he was so thin in the 90's was the addiction... Thank god he sought help and recovered.
