“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Heres Tom with the Weather.” - Bill Hicks

David Fincher (Fight Club) directed this music video. He is good friends with Trent Reznor, and they collaborated on The Social Network, Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl. I have a feeling that Reznor wrote this song in tribute to Fight Club. "There is no you, there is only me." "I just made you up to hurt myself." Of course, that wasn't the original intention of the Narrator... Anybody?

Souls Adrift

Came back to this after not hearing it for a few years and it's still the worst song Trent has ever recorded.

Imagine if you were born with the knowledge of the date of your death. Would people stop wasting time and appreciate life knowing when it would end? Having the luxury of not knowing how much time you have left keeps people from really living or appreciating *everything* and *everyone* they love...I got that from SAW 2 but damn...makes a lot of sense to me..
