A great song does last forever. This song as recorded by Perry Como in 1957 was the first certified gold 45 rpm record that also won a Grammy Award. I'm an Elvis fan -- but, I have to admit that growing up a baby boomer -- Perry Como was always up there with some great songs. "Caterina" was another great Como track and years later despite all the rock competition in the late 60's he hits again with "Seattle," "And I Love Her So" (a Don McLean song) & "It's Impossible". No one was smoother than Como. Even Frank Sinatra envied him. Nina Wall's version is credible but she doesn't have that Como magic...but who does?

This version is nice, but the best of all is the original from 1957 by Perry Como. It was #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 list, Como got a gold record for it in 1958 and he won a Grammy for it in 1959.
