@Blutroth your spelling is just shit! i don't want people like you to explain black metal! and black metal started in sweden not norway with BATHORY...norway exploded on the scene with darkthrone...the best american black metal band is leviathan though.

indeeed, Americans are way better than norwegian black metal. What has norway to offer in occult black metal? Nothing much: Mare, Dodsengel...sure - those are good bands, but if you take it by the quantity, a lot of other countrys have much more and formed the genre. Sweden, America, France, Greece. Norway stands for a country that produce paganinspired and ridiculous black metal. No real satan worshop..just provocation and no real occult atmosphere (de mysterii dhom sathana is an exception)

Yeah, the blind can't see anything. Ask Nightbringer, their lyrics are theological and spiritual. Why do you listen nightbringer if you don't go along with theyr lyrics? Better listen to some romanticism pagan crap, where vikings writing runes into trees, hypocrite!

Bathory isn't even Norwegien.... But I don't know how you can fail to hear the influence of Emperor, Thorns, and Pure Holocaust-era Immortal in their music. The way they play it is a bit more complex, I'd say, but the basic style is directly from that era.

You seem incredibly naive about how songwriting works. All music draws influence from other music, especially in the areas of note choice and song structure. It's not like they're reinventing the concept of music.

So and its not possible to be NOT influeced by any wave of black metal? Fuck black metal waves! Who cares about crappy immortal, bathory, gahaym and burzum. Real spiritual music doesn't need any more influence than love for spiritual topics and transcendent xperience. I don't can see any songwriting in Nightbringer that is influenced by this pagan suckers from the north or rock'n roll fags from UK.

Norwegian black metal is not "shitty". It's widely recognized as one of metal's finest subgenres, and the bands' songwriting abilities are amazing. Nightbringer incorporates blast beats, tremolo picking, and arpeggiated minor chords, the combination of which Norwegian black metal helped to pioneer. I seriously doubt this band would ever call into question the second wave's (or first wave's, for that matter) influence on their music.

So ALL black metal is influced by shitty nor. black metal? Nightbringer is not even close, the riffs are of other atmosphere. They do theyre own stuff and have no black metal band influences, ask them.

aarongtr180

Of course it is. The atmosphere, the note choices, and the vocals are all reminiscent of and influenced by Norwegian black metal. What else would it be influenced by? First wave black metal was not as atmospheric as this, so it must draw influence from the second wave (Norwegian).

Blutroth

It is not.

"Shitty Norwegian band"? Do you realize how much this band is influenced by Norwegian black metal? Learn your shit, kid.
