AspergerL, try "Keep it out of Sight", it's a cover of a Dr. Feelgood tune, but it'd only be on "The Wilderness Years" or some other compilation. Not an album track. It might even be a demo, I can't remember.

Such a great little weird Nick tune. This ones a total grower. Used to bum me out at the beginning of Labour of Lust but now it's a total highlight

Saw Nick Lowe in 1981 opening up for The Cars "It make a shiver it make a shake, it make a monster just like an earthquake" He had Paul Carrack of "Squeeze" playing keyboards, Paul sang "Tempted by the Fruit of Another" ...... The Cars were okay, but I went to that concert to see Nick and his band ...... outside of Paul McCartney or maybe Sting, there isn't a better songwriter/bassist/front man in rock & roll ...... I could post several dozen awesome songs besides this one from him & ~ !

Fantastic Song. So representative of Lowe -- is there really any other song like this?

Not surprised if he was "stand-offish"; I used to be a singer and felt extremely uncomfortable off the stage during or after a show. I was very very shy off stage and would take as long as I could getting changed etc after performing, hoping that all the people who wanted to talk to me would be gone. Music and the stage was my comfort zone. Nick Lowe's music has an effortless rhythm to it and is timeless, but some songs have a totally different sound-still good though-always easy on the ears..

Is there any Nick Lowe/Rockpile song similar to this one? I really like this one, but I took a listen to the entire album and some other stuff and nothing sounds nearly like this. His other stuff is much happier and more classic rock and roll. Also the production is completely different on this song than it is on his other stuff. The guitar riff and the subtle wurlitzer kicks ass! His other songs have a much more classic rock and roll style of playing as well.
