Ilknond- "the kitten she did gently pass"...... Why say ' Dear God?' You may not like certain lyrics but to me it sounds like you just don't get it! The kitten is just there as a symbol of the nature of the woman, all kind and cuddly and optimistic and (possibly) seeing everything through rose-tinted specs. Nearly all Nick Cave's lyrics are highly symbolic. He tells stories through symbolism. There actually is no man and woman sitting at a window. Nick is a master of the written word and people like yourself should not dismiss his lyrics cos you don't get it. You embarrass yourself.
