Being a clone of ELP or not , Triumvirat was a great band. I heard them since i was 13 (it was 20 years ago!!!) , but i never get tired of the amazing keyboard lines of Mr. Fritz, or the powerful drums of Hanz Bathelt. My newborn son will heard them, and maybe my grandchilds too. A underrated diamond, IMHO.

Interrupting musical virtuosos (keyboardist Jurgen Fritz and drummer Curt Cress) in the middle of a Triumvirat performance is literally a sacrilege!!! How dare he did that?!?

Say what you want ... but (unfortunately) they tried to cash in on ELPs' characteristic Hammond Centric sound and ... never could get out from the ELP "shadow" ...someone said they were better than ELP ... I think not ... though "Spartacus" is a masterpiece ... the other LPs were typically "hit-n-miss" ...and then like all PROG ROCKers they seemed to "get tired" or took bad advice from management and tried to go pop ... C'est La Vie (to quote ELP)

Is Triumvirat still around? Is Jurgen Fitz still alive? And if he is, what is he doing now?

So. Triumvirat couldn't find a title for this so they decided to rip off a Genesis title from an album released two years earlier????? Nice originality Fritz. What's next, a forgotten composition from 1978 titled "The Endless Enigma"???????

Tarkus

Instrumental from the heavily ELP-influenced trio.

This is the very first time I have ever seen them "live". I had a couple of their albums and thought they were really good and creative.

Thanks for the info. The Philly concert you're talking about, is that just audio, or is there video of the band also ? I have the re-mastered Spartacus CD that includes some live tracks. It's too bad the whole CD wasn't live ! Thanks again for the info.

Thanks for the info, too bad I missed them. I vaguely remember them being mentioned to tour with Kansas ( I think ) here in the Chicago area. But, if I also remember, Triumvirat cancelled their Chicago appearance. I could be off on this. If you've got any further info, I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks for the reply.
